The "Allegro vivace" from Rossini's "Guglielmo Tell" ouverture.

 Guglielmo Tell

"Guglielmo Tell” is Rossini’s last opera. The subject is the Swiss people’s liberation from foreign domination, under the legendary leader Wilhelm Tell, the hero already celebrated in Schiller’s drama. The opera’s première was performed in Paris in 1829, in a five-hours version, with the original libretto in French.

The “ouverture” – a short symphony in four movements – culminates in this final “allegro vivace”. This performance is directed by the Italian conductor Riccardo Muti. A supply of resonant energy to start a day or an event where full charge is needed!
